Date night at Brasserie V tonight. I vote it best beer selection in Madison. (Love the St. Bernardus)

Andrew has been catching up on the show Nashville so we can continue to watch the rest of the season together. As he says, with as much Nashville as we've been watching Hulu has him solidly in the 22-25 year old female demographic. Turns out I'm slowly succeeding at turning him into a country music fan.

I finally took down the Christmas tree tonight. The disdain I have for this task makes me wonder what I'm going through do many years down the road when I inherit my mothers massive Christmas collection. Mustering up the ambition to take down one tree took me 14 days. With at least a dozen more I may turn into a feature on a TLC show: Hoarders - the Christmas Edition. I must strive to improve on these responsible, adult tasks.

It was a pretty ordinary Tuesday occupied with work, reality TV and a single glass of red wine. Some people like watch thought provoking movies and television. I like anything that allows me to shut off my brain.

Packers win 26-21 against Dallas in the Second Round Playoffs in Green Bay. The announcers keep calling it the "Ice Bowl II" which is totally false considering it is over 20 degrees.

After combatting jet lag with a long Friday evening nap, we tried a new restaurant in Madison: Bellini.
Atmosphere - Cool (old church), Food - Meh (needs more flavor), Service - More Meh (awkward)

After the hike I watched the most consistently beautiful sunset I've ever seen (seriously it's gorgeous and different every single night) on Waikiki Beach. As the sun was going down, a family walked by on the beach. The 4 or 5 year old daughter was not even paying attention to her surroundings but instead playing on her iPad while she walked. She whined to her dad about how he kicked sand on her beloved tablet. Are you serious little girl? Look up - this is what you'll see.

Probably the best part of being in Hawaii in January is being able to get my 10,000 steps on the beach.

Ate crazy delicious Ahi tuna at Duke's on Waikiki Beach. I've made Duke's a regular spot on my trips. Usually I can't resist a Mai Tai. They just taste so right with your toes in the sand. The bartender is retired pro surfer, Jimmy Lewis. Legend (also known as a local at the bar) says he still catches a wave now and then.

Premier of the Bachelor Farmer Chris was tonight. Quick takes on the bachelor:
- I've been watching this show for literally 10 years. Each episode is 2 hours long, so I've probably spent approximatley 300 hours watching this show. No regrets.
- Creating a bachelor draft makes the show 100X more entertaining.
- With the exception of 1 girl, my draft team sucks. One girl told Chris he could 'plow her field' in her introduction.

Traveled to Hawaii today. After this trip only 2 trips left in the best business assignment ever. When I travel alone I like to situate myself at the bar. I either meet people doing the same thing or chat with the bartender. Tonight I met a gentleman from Guadalahara, Mexico. We spoke in Spanish for awhile. I'm really rusty and feeling like Spanish was a bit of a waste of a college major.

Visited the U Boat at the Museum of Science and Industry. Thought about taking down the Christmas decorations, but was too lazy.

Date night in Chicago with Andrew. We got upgraded to the "Paul Revere" suite - which was incredibly bad ass and overlooking the river. Perks of traveling on January 2nd. Spoiled ourselves at the tasty Boka restaurant and spent the majority of the meal creating made up life stories of the diners around us. The pretentious family at the next table returned their bottle of wine (after it was poured) stating it was too earthy. In an attempt to be classy I stopped Andrew from asking the waitress if we could get their un-drank glasses at a discount. Looking back I wish I hadn't. Also had our first visit to Second City comedy club. Many laughs.

Spent the day drinking all of the champagne meant for the upcoming weekend among awesome company and still in our sweat pants. Started with mimosas and slowly added less and less orange juice. [Andrew, David, Jenny, Oscar, Justin, Oyin, Taki, Taylor]
